The Beat the Heat drag cars break down barriers between young drivers and police, with the goal to motivate young drivers to take their vehicles to a legal and safe drag racing venue.

TYREPOWER in Wonthaggi is inviting all customers, past, present and future, to its very first Tyrepower Safety Day on Saturday, December 16 from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
The ‘Beat the Heat’ police drag car will be on display for some great photo opportunities as well as proprietor Kris Baker’s HR Holden.
“We have some of our local police coming along with the Highway Patrol car to help out and we will be giving away free anti-theft number plate screws, which we are happy to fit to your vehicle on the spot!” Kris said.
If that’s not enough, Kris and staff will be holding ‘Safety Sessions’ on tyres, one at noon and the next at 1pm.
This will cover how to change a flat tyre, where to jack the car from, how to properly check the tread depth of your tyres, pressure/alignment and balance issues.
So if you know someone, for example a new driver to the road or just doesn’t have the support to be shown how, come down and enjoy some free giveaways on the day and maybe even learn something new!
“We welcome everyone to come enjoy a fun, friendly and informative day!” Kris said.
