Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles were lined up on a side road, ready to fight the fire.

A FIRE which tore through a Bass business on Sunday caused around half a million dollars’ worth of damage.
There were two employees working on the morning of the fire at the Pender Road business, across the road from the Bass Recreation Reserve.
San Remo Station Commander Bruce Kent said the two men went out for lunch and upon returning to the panel shop at around 12.30pm, they discovered the fire.
“It was unoccupied at the time but it was fairly well alight.
“There was one large truck worth $150,000, with the total damage at about $500,000 because there were several other vehicles inside.”
The fire’s not being treated as suspicious.
“There was electrical equipment running inside, they’d been using grinders.”
At its peak, there were 13 emergency vehicles attending the fire.
“The fire trucks came from quite a distance. They did spray painting in there as well.”
