A 19 year old Walkerville North woman wrote off her car after losing concentration and crashing in Korumburra’s Commercial Street on Friday morning.
The woman was on her way home from Melbourne for the weekend when she hit a tree, the garden bed and a sign on the median strip at the Radovick Street intersection at around 8am.
She was not injured, but taken to the Korumburra Police station for a breath test where she recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.067.
It resulted in a $467 fine and loss of licence for six months.
As a probationary driver, a 0.0 BAC is required.
Police say she was fortunate not to have crashed whilst travelling at a higher speed outside of town limits.
The car came to rest facing in the opposite direction.
Fire crews were on site as the car was smouldering.
