WAYNE Kuhne of Bushlea Farms, Leongatha South has done it again, with his Bushlea Ottens-Maybell EX91 heifer topping the Jersey Showcase sale at International Dairy Week recently, selling for $14,000.
Glenn Ross of Bald Hills was the lucky buyer, with the second-highest price for the sale paid by L and M Wallace, of Poowong North, who bought Robert and Sandra Bacon’s November-calved Brookbora Love Lies 717 for $6800.
Eight year old Cohen Harrison of Nerrena paid the third highest price, buying Jugiong Leonie 7500 for $6000.
The average for the sale was $4943.75, with one lot withdrawn before the sale and another unsold.
Bushlea Farms had stellar success late last year with a Jersey sold for $50,000 at the Global Impact Sale in New South Wales. Cohen Harrison also made his mark last year, taking home the three-year-old honour at the Jersey Australia Semex Great Southern Challenge in November.
