Fisheries Officers carried the stingray back out to where it belongs.

A STINGRAY who got trapped in a
rock pool at Cape Paterson was freed at the weekend.
It was an interesting challenge for the Wonthaggi Life Saving Club patrolling members, with plenty of inquisitive onlookers and plenty of opinions on what to do.
Members hoped the stingray would free itself at the next high tide, but after two days of no luck, it was time to call in the experts.
A plan was devised on Sunday between Fisheries Officers and volunteers to capture and release the stingray.
After some netting and coaxing, the stingray was safely removed from the rock pool and released into the ocean.
