As we drive back and forth to Melbourne, we often pass through Tooradin. The road here is a divided highway, with two lanes either side. In the middle, you come across pedestrian traffic lights.
At either end of town, you find flashing speed limit signs, 60km/h between 6am and 8pm.
For the $40 million upgrade of 2km of road in Newhaven, can VicRoads confirm that this will be of the same rating as the road through Tooradin?
If so, how about the 60km/h speed limit should be installed immediately, extending all the way to past the Woolamai beach turnoff?
Why not satisfy the original requirement for improved traffic safety right now?
