Why do councils allow such narrow roads in all subdivisions?
In an emergency these roads can be blocked – a car each side, caravans, boats, work vehicles, each member of the family has a car, no access to the backyard, most homes only have a small carport, parking on a nature strip can be fined – how stupid, much safer than 24/7 on the street for caravans, boats, work trucks, etc.
Many drivers even when a backyard is available still park out on the road.
Emergency evacuation does happen, particularly in the event of fire.
It is about time town planning people woke up to the real world instead of fairyland and think about future safety for everyone instead of developers of subdivisions.
