A DRUM kit was last week stolen from a Phillip Island car park, with the drums belonging to Youki, a young man with cerebral palsy.
He’s a drummer in ‘Skull Fork’, a Scope Bass Coast Lifestyle Options rock band, an organisation that offers opportunities for people with disabilities.
Between 1.30pm and 2.15pm last Friday, the ‘Gresch’ seven-piece drum kit was stolen from the rear of the Cowes Cultural Centre.
He had the kit strapped to a trailer, which he drives around with his motorised scooter.
Skull Fork recently released its first CD and the band was booked to play in Melbourne at the weekend.
The thieves also stole a custom-made stool that Youki relies on for both the band and his mobility at home.
The trailer was parked for about 30 minutes, near the carpark for the Cowes Cultural Centre, with offenders cutting ties and then stealing the kit and stool.
Youki was in his wheelchair in the nearby library for about 30 minutes.
If you have any information on the crime, call the San Remo Police Station on 5678 5500.
