BLOCK sales in a Dalyston estate have exceeded expectations, with Stage 4 of the Cloverdale Park Estate selling out within three hours.
The real estate boom, which has spread from Wonthaggi into the rural town of Dalyston, saw the PBE Wonthaggi offices last week turn into a scene from Wall Street.
The phones were going off the hook and agents were yelling out lot numbers, while contracts were finalised for stages four and five of the Cloverdale Park Estate.
And it’s exactly what the small town needs – 145 more blocks for first-home buyers and people from the city looking to invest or re-locate.
Dalyston’s no longer the town people drive through on their way to Wonthaggi.
PBE Wonthaggi director Angela Di Conza said the quick sell out is in response to Wonthaggi’s deserted land supply.
“Cloverdale Park Estate offers affordable land sales in a great, liveable town,” she said.
“Wonthaggi’s on your doorstep, which is getting a new hospital and high school.”
Dalyston is a five-minute drive from Wonthaggi and the beautiful Kilcunda beaches and cafe.
The Dalyston General Store is thriving and the local recreational reserve is set to undergo a $1.4 million upgrade thanks to the local council.
The rural backdrop and quiet ambience will remain with the town as the new estate is built.
Existing property owners will benefit from the upgrading and sealing of Tulloch Street, which in turn will help increase existing property prices.
“Titles for stage one will be released in the coming months,” Ms Di Conza said.
A hive of activity is expected to unfold in the later part of this year with housing construction commencing.
“It’s an incredible growth of the town, which has often been overlooked.”
Stages six and seven of the new estate will be released at a later date, while construction workers continue building roads, footpaths and a park in the Cloverdale Park Estate at a rapid rate to keep up with demand.
While stage five is almost sold out, PBE Wonthaggi real estate agents are taking names for those interested in stages six and seven, which total 30 lots.
