Who cares about the erosion along the Cowes foreshore?
The only people whose properties are threatened by sand erosion are the wealthiest of the wealthy, with multi-million-dollar homes on choice north shore real estate.
They are more than able to chip in for their own erosion protection without burdening the less well-off Bass Coast ratepayers.
As the erosion intensifies in future with ongoing sea level rise, the council should absolutely not lock itself into supporting works of little or no public benefit.
There is no need for the council to take any further action on this issue, apart from giving them a collection hat to pass around among themselves.
