Scott Loughridge was the Conventional runner-up at the state event held at Colac.

Greig Barry of Loch finished fifth in the Vintage Ploughing section.

THE Victorian State Ploughing match held recently at Colac, and as usual, Poowong ploughmen dominated.
The West Gippsland Ploughing Association had five ploughmen in the match over three sections.
In the conventional (two furrow) section, the winner was Adrian Tilling (Poowong), second was Scott Loughridge (Poowong), and third was Shaun Carson (Colac).
Dan Custance of Poowong won the encouragement award for his first ever ploughing contest with two very well ploughed plots.
The reversible section results were first, Brett Loughridge (Poowong) and second Pryde Inglis.
Grieg Barry of Loch came fifth in the Vintage section.
This is not the first time that the West Gippsland ploughmen have done so well.
There was a ploughing monument erected in the main street of Poowong in recognition of this.
The ploughmen will now head to Tasmania to compete in the National Contest.
The winner of that contest will represent Australia in America in 2019.
