KOONWARRA Leongatha/RSL enjoyed a comfortable 8 wicket victory of MDU in the only game of A Grade Division Two on the weekend.
The game was limited to 28 overs apiece due to the rain, with MDU winning the toss and electing to bat.
But the Cougars’ Josh Moore was on fire early, claiming three big scalps to really set the game up for Koonwarra.
Darien Matthews 23 and Matthew Olden 21 did their best to get the runs flowing for the Demons but the Cougars always had an answer.
A nice piece of tail end work from Cam Harris 19 saw the Demons limp to 9/121 at the end of play with Moore the pick of the bowlers with 3/16 off his six overs.
In reply, the Cougars were a steady ship and despite losing the wickets of Ben Davison 15 and Braydan Moscript 35 they were able to get home under the watchful eyes of captain Ben Perry 39 and Sam Hughes 26 in the 25th over.
Cam Harris the only wicket taker for MDU claiming 2/14 off his six overs.
