THE Korumburra community is invited to get on board the ‘16 Days of Activism’ campaign to challenge violence against women and girls by joining Milpara Community House in turning the town orange.
In the lead up to the campaign, which runs every year from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10, Human Rights Day, Milpara is supplying templates and materials for community members to make orange flowers and banners to be put on display around Korumburra to bring attention to the issue of gender-based violence.
In the context of the campaign, which is also known as ‘Orange the World’, the colour orange is a symbol of a brighter future, free from violence against women and girls.
