KORUMBURRA is really on the move, a fact that was toasted and tasted in style last Wednesday night, November 14, with local produce at a ‘Celebrate Korumburra’ event at The Borough Department Store, one of several new businesses established in the town in recent times.
Organised by the Korumburra Round Table as a way to highlight the town’s developments and potential, it was attended by upwards of 200 local business people, residents and supporters.
It was also supposed to be attended by a bevy of politicians but staged 10 days out from the State Election, only Gippsland South MLA Danny O’Brien was able to attend.
Chair of the round table Peewee Lewis welcomed the “fantastic” response to the event and urged those present to talk to shire staff members, councillors and those involved in the developments so that they would be better equipped to provide feedback when the time came.
“This is all about the new, revitalised Korumburra. It’s fantastic, thanks for coming,” Mrs Lewis said.
