A SUBLIME innings by Leongatha Town batsman Sahan Perera of 170, during which he played every shot in the book, to all parts of Scorpion Park in Leongatha last Saturday, has anchored a huge first innings total of 5/461 against Koonwarra-Leongatha RSL.
A feature of the innings was a partnership for the second wicket of 255 with former association cricketer of the year Amila Ratnaike.
The pair were together when first Perera and then Ratnaike raised their bats to acknowledge their centuries.
Ratnaike had been measured in his approach as he negotiated the 80s and 90s, but he lifted his head after reaching three figures to strike several punishing sixes before ultimately holing out in the outfield to a nicely judged catch by Josh Hastings off bowler Josh Moore.
