MELBOURNE Vixens Goaler and Commonwealth Gold medallist Tegan Philip is coming to Wonthaggi.
Teaming up with the RACV to present the community clinic on Thursday, January 24 from 2.30pm to 5pm at the Wonthaggi Netball Association courts.
Tegan grew up in Anglesea embracing netball from a young age, with both of
her parents competing in
the sport.
Since then she has seen high and lows, winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow, before an ACL injury ruled her out of the 2016 season.
Managing to recover and return to great form, Tegan says netball has taught her how to live a balanced lifestyle; enjoying time with partner Joshi who leads the VIxMen cheer squad, time at the beach, catching up with friends, walking her dog and quality time on the court.
Taking time out of her busy training schedule to visit, Tegan is looking forward to meeting the country kids, and says, “I wish I got to meet pro athletes when I was growing up.”
This is a great opportunity for young netballers to meet a world class athlete, and to get an idea what it takes to make living out of sport.
Positions are available for boys and girls and are $40. Enrolment is available online at www.vic.netball.com.au/communityclinics/ or by calling 9321 2222.
