BASEBALL talent Bailey Harvey has recently returned from the National Under 16 Baseball Championship after his team, Victoria ‘White’, finished fourth.
Bailey played the summer season 17/18 for Moorabbin and winter for Frankston, and Bailey was excited to make the state team because of his performances.
“The tournament was really tough. I learnt a lot and want to try out again next year,” Bailey said.
Bailey is a fielder and batting focused player. During the tournament he suffered a slight shoulder injury missing two days of the tournament, but he was back for the last three days.
“We were really lucky to have some great coaches and re-hab trainers on the team.”
Bailey grew from 5’7” to 6’2” just in the past six months and is going to take off next season to focus on building strength and key skills he wants to improve.
Bailey has been playing baseball for just two years. Two concussions in another sport prompted doctors to recommend he did not play more contact sport.
“At first I missed the missed the contact, but I never imagined how much fun I would have playing baseball,” Bailey said.
