This summer parts of Australia have had a foretaste of the extreme weather events that are predicted to increase in severity and frequency if greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced.
Even along the Bass Coast we are seeing accelerated coastal erosion and a January rainfall total of just 7.8mm, where the average is 47.5.
According to the Climate Council, under the policies of the current Federal Government emissions rose last year and are expected to continue to rise despite promises of a 26-28 per cent reduction by 2030.
For the sake of the generations to come, we need action now on climate change.
If this government won’t do it, we need to elect one who will.
Make your vote count come election time.
