For the Women of Wonthaggi and Environs, the CWA has been resurrected. The Wonthaggi Branch of the CWA is now formally off and running with monthly meetings held the third Wednesday of each month from 7pm at Mitchell House, 6 Murray Street.
The Country Women’s Association of Victoria is part of the largest women’s organisation in Australia and being a non-party political and non-sectarian, all women young and old are encouraged to become involved with the new Wonthaggi Branch.
Members work and discuss the welfare of women, children and families through representation to all levels of government undertaking fundraising events, providing networking opportunities and teaching life skills, helping out in times of emergency and natural disaster among its broad charter.
We encourage new women to participate so the association can continue it’s work and relativity today and in the challenging years ahead.
The Wonthaggi CWA promises to be a delightfully diverse group with more than tea and scones on the menu (but we do have a good recipe!).
All interested are heartily welcome to attend the next and first meeting of the year, Wednesday, February 20, at 7pm.
