Urban Breeze is all about paring back the clutter and keeping to a mostly neutral palette, but don’t be afraid to splash out with pops of colour in signature artworks and throw in a few bold geometric prints that signal your individuality.

LIFE can be hectic, with work stretching way past 9-5 and our phones buzzing all the time.
The perfect antidote? Metricon’s latest Lookbook theme, Urban Breeze, which draws on natural timbers, spruces of green and soothing neutral colours to create a blissful sanctuary inspired by nature.
Metricon Homes’ senior interior designer, Jacinta Evans, says that Urban Breeze is all about finding your Zen space at home.
“It should help reinvigorate you after a long day – and in order to relax, you need to let go of the perfect!
“Do this in your home by embracing tactile textures in vases and bowls, and show off their unique earthen finishes.
“Use natural textures, such as raw leather for your couches and pale driftwood for your coffee tables and sideboards.
“Opt for organic colours such as teal and turquoise to pepper through your home, such as on cushions.”
Bridging the indoors-outdoor divide is at the heart of Urban Breeze, so embrace nature with ferns, grasses and succulents that sit in smooth stone and translucent glass pots.
If you’re worried about your green thumb credentials, you can achieve the same result with artificial plants.
Add to the serenity with sheer curtains to bathe the room in muted, natural light.
“Urban Breeze is all about paring back the clutter and keeping to a mostly neutral palette, but don’t be afraid to splash out with pops of colour in signature artworks and throw in a few bold geometric prints that signal your individuality.”
Here are Metricon’s tips on bringing Urban Breeze into every room in your home:
Kitchen – Choose real or laminate timber for cabinetry and contrast benchtops in light grey stone or laminate. Introduce fresh herbs on windowsills, and chopping boards and serving platters that echo the timber cabinetry.
Dining room – Keep the focus on a feature timber dining table. Crown with native flowers such as proteas and eucalypts, and glossy black ceramics and raw timber pieces, all perched on textural woven placemats.
Bedroom – The most important place to create a peaceful retreat. Opt for a soft grey bedhead trimmed with timber, matched with a timber bench seat at the foot of the bed. Combine white linen sheets with pale grey, tan and teal pillowcases, a huggable raw wool throw and add interest with a geometric-patterned black and white rug.
Bathroom – Again opt for laminate timbers. Terrazzo and porcelain tiles in grey tones bring a sense of calm. Pair with thick, luxurious towels in navy and white.
