ROLLING stock from Korumburra’s historic railway station now have new homes, after crews worked on behalf of the Yarra Valley Railway and Mornington Railway to relocate the stock.
Workers were on site on Friday, July 19, getting ready to move seven rolling stock to Healesville, and two to Mornington, one at a time via truck.
The items sold to the Yarra Valley Railway by the State Government include a diesel electric rail motor (DERM), which they’ll use as a backup for the DERM they’re currently operating on weekends and public holidays, YRV’s secretary Brett Morton told the Sentinel-Times.
Other items of interest at Korumburra include flat wagons and a guard’s van, also known as a brake van, Mr Morton said.
