Recently Karyn Bugeja’s letter re “The Amazon” shipwreck, showed great interest in local history.
Inverloch’s Historical Society has a wonderful collection of local historical artefacts which are presently stored in various members’ houses because the Society does not have a permanent home for storage and for sharing knowledge.
We treasure our historical items, but we wonder how long they will remain in a fit state to show future generations.
We urgently need a local museum and would hope that the Bass Coast Shire Council would understand that maintaining our historical information and artefacts is of vital importance, and would be able to give some assistance in providing a suitable home.
