I’m very confused, first the Bass Coast Shire declare a climate emergency, then we have parents and children using their fuel-guzzling cars and buses to go to a climate demonstration in the city, OK, but now these people want to dig up our small Newhaven park and replace it with1000m² of concrete to build a skateboard ramp with seating stands and lighting that could be used up until 9pm.
Our park is used by parents with small children, skateboarders, people with disabilities, travellers and family picnics, as Janice Joplin sang in Big Yellow Taxi, “they paved paradise and put up a skateboard ramp”. Please don’t ruin our park.
[I’m] passionate about our park.
