I refer to the article in the Sentinel-Times on December 3, 2019, regarding “the replacement” of approximately 800m of footpath in White Road at a cost of $317,000, and yet we still have many streets with no footpaths (after more than 100 years of neglect) but we can rip one up and replace it.
What an absolute disgrace, never seen so much money wasted in such a town with limited capital.
What has happened to the clean-up of the main street in Wonthaggi, that was spruiked by the re-elected mayor?
I wonder what will be the next overpriced and non-essential program in the town.
Maybe a pedestrian crossing at the clinic would be good, help assist the elderly trying to cross the road, or one in Graham Street.
Lyall Broughton, Wonthaggi.
What about building paths?
