That’s the best production cow in the region, Dilee Roble 864 owned by the White family of Leongatha, winner of the Leading Edge Genetics on farm challenge for 2019.

THIS is not the Melbourne Royal but winning the Leading Edge Genetics on farm challenge for the best commercial dairy cow in the region is better in some ways.
And it was a delighted White family of Leongatha; Les and Diane, together with Russell and Amy, who returned to the winners’ dais after six years to claim the award for the best production cow in 2019.
Their cow, Dilee Roble 864 is the sort of cow everyone would like to have in the shed, according to local judge Roger Perrett, who with his team looked at an incredible 408 cows, on farm, over the week before naming the White cow as their best at an event recently.
“We’d expect that cow to do her 10,000 litres this year, no problem. She’s by an AI sire Roble, out of one of our own herd cows so it’s typical of our genetics which is good. But they’re hard to win,” said Russell this week.
