SOUTH Gippsland Shire Council’s acting chief executive Bryan Sword was publicly thanked by administrators at his last council meeting in the role on Wednesday.
Administrator chair Julie Eisenbise said Mr Sword had taken on the position during a difficult time in the council.
“You came into an organisation that was ruffled at the time and you have taken us through a very organised and structured way in which the administrators have been able to work,” Ms Eisenbise said.
“You’ve been able to encourage all of your staff to support you through this time.”
She thanked Mr Sword and congratulated him on his efforts.
“I know that in this period of time it has not been easy,” she said.
Newly appointed chief executive Kerry Ellis takes up the role on Tuesday, March 10 and Mr Sword will return to his position as Director Development Services.
