FAR from being locked down by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fish Creek Tea Cosy competition and exhibition is ramping up.

Organisers have cancelled the festival part of their annual event but have moved quickly to take the competition and exhibition online as an e-cosy exhibition.

All crafted tea cosies should be photographed and sent via email to the festival committee.

They will then be uploaded to an online exhibition commencing 16 May. All entry fees have been abolished; all categories will continue; judging will still take place and prizes will be awarded.

Spokesperson Marge Arnup said they had even added a new Instagram competition to remind people of the current situation.

“While COVID-19 is a very serious situation, the Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival Committee wanted to do something more to bring a smile to its loyal band of supporters,” Marge said.

“#teacosiesinisolation seeks photos of any tea cosy in an isolated situation. You don’t have to make it – it can be yours, your granny’s, borrowed, dare I say ‘stolen. It can be indoors or outside, whatever takes your imagination.”

Images should be posted to Instagram with the hashtag TEACOSIESNISOLATION by May 24 and the winner will be announced on May 31.

The prize for the best image will be a Wilsons Promontory Cruise from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys
