Kilcunda has been a popular spot with surfers “working from home” during the coronavirus shut down.

IT’S “game on” at the beach breaks along Bass Coast today, from Kilcunda to the Island with a solid 1m-2m swell running and likely to build into Saturday.

The carparks have been chockas throughout the day with people “working from home” taking the opportunity of some “exercise”.

It’s certainly noticeable that many more people are down here, picking a great spot for their COVID-19 isolation.

Weather is ideal today with light north-north westerlies and with the tide on the way in this afternoon, still time to catch a good surf during the “evening glass off” this evening but don’t leave it too late… the sun goes down at 5.07pm with last light at 5.36pm.

Weather report tomorrow for Phillip Island: Mostly sunny. Areas of fog in the east in the early morning. Medium (40%) chance of showers in the west, slight (20%) chance elsewhere. Showers developing during the late evening. Winds northerly 25 to 40 km/h increasing to 30 to 45 km/h in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 9 with daytime temperatures reaching between 13 and 18.

Tide is dead low at about 10.45am tomorrow with high tide at around 5pm, swell building to 2 metres plus so may be too big for the beachies. Consider checking out your favourite reef.

The weather gods leave us to it on Sunday, May 31 with showers and cold weather returning for the start of winter.
