LOCH woman Janie Stace is a community hero and Australia knows it following an early morning visit from the Today Show on Friday.

Janie was surprised with a bunch of flowers and $10,000 donated by Suncorp in recognition of her efforts in animal rescue, supporting drought-affected farmers and organising gift packs for mums in nursing homes who weren’t able to see their families on Mother’s Day.

In fact, her first response to the cash boost was, “There’s a lot of people worse off than me. It will give a little bit of freedom, there’s going to be some drought farmers helped in there as well”.
Janie was nominated by a friend, Brooke, who told Today Show reporter Christine Ahern that Janie was always thinking of other people.

“I don’t know anyone more deserving,” Brooke said.

“As long as I’ve known her, she has always been trying to help other people. She always puts herself last and never takes any credit.”
