THE Salvation Army has followed the lead of other charity campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic, moving their major annual fundraiser from the streets to a screen near you.

Run over the months of April, May and June every year, with a national doorknock traditionally taking place on the last weekend in May, the Red Shield Appeal will instead utilise online fundraising this year to ensure health guidelines and social distancing are observed.

Funds go to social welfare and community services, including crisis support and emergency relief.
