George Floyd’s death in the USA is the final straw on top of a huge unlit bonfire.
Many Australians, like many Americans, can no longer endure living in a society with entrenched lack of justice on the grounds of race or colour.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, health officials and politicians advised Black Lives Matter organisers and protesters not to go ahead with their June 6 protests.
Instead, government leaders could have met with leaders, promised justice and shown commitment.
Even now they can immediately move to fully implement all 1991 Royal Commission into Black Deaths in Custody recommendations.
