In these times it is important to keep all the lines of communication open and I am glad to see our local paper’s Facebook and online presence being used in conjunction with the print versions. It’s also great to see that our local newspapers are working hard to keep independent journalism alive and keeping the public well informed about what is happening around us, particularly in view of the upcoming council election.
In recognition of the difficulty fresh candidates face in getting their message out, the shire’s only community-based monthly magazine, The Waterline News, will be electronically publishing an election special on September 30 and is inviting all candidates to freely contribute. Further details are available at
Keep up the great work, SGST.
