I write to say how proud I am to serve as the local state Member of Parliament for Mirboo North.
The recent announcement that the Mirboo North and District Community Foundation will fund a new medical clinic and allied health facility in Mirboo North is a massive step. It is a great testament to the foresight of the Mirboo North community in establishing the foundation following the sale of the aged care facility.
That the community has this foundation is fantastic and the envy of rural towns right around Australia. But in many respects, it is not surprising when you see efforts by the community for projects such as the Mirboo North swimming pool redevelopment, supported by the effervescent fundraising committee supported by the likes of young Riley Gourlay.
Likewise, the huge success that is the Italian Festa and the Mirboo North markets, the work of Mirboo Country Development Inc, the Wednesday Warriors working on Lyrebird Walk, a great community newsletter and the many other community, sporting and interest groups that do so much to support the community of Mirboo North.
It’s a great credit to all the community, and I just wanted to say that I’m proud to be your local representative.
Danny O’Brien MP, State Member for Gippsland South, Shadow Assistant Minister for Regional Health, and Shadow Assistant Minister for Ambulance Services.
Mirboo North has done it again
