Bass Coast has over a hundred kilometres of unsealed urban roads. At the present rate of sealing, a lot of our residents will be living in sub-standard conditions for the rest of this century.
Currently, a large chunk of the cost of upgrading these roads and drains is passed on to people who are least able to afford it.
Since 2019, millions of dollars of federal funding has been allocated to reduce this financial nightmare and speed up the process in Yarra Ranges Shire. Why not here?
I will push for the same funding model in Bass Coast so the cost of our Special Charge Schemes can be significantly reduced.
People have a right to live in areas where there are footpaths and decent drains. This link explains the details: bit.ly/3jDUQY6.
