THE state government has revised the completion date for its comprehensive coastal erosion study focusing on Inverloch surf beach and surrounds.
A spokesperson for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) confirmed this morning that a consultant had been selected to undertake the Inverloch Coastal Hazard assessment, after tenders closed in August, and work on the study would commence this month.
However, “due to delays resulting from COVID-19” the original estimated completion date of August 2021 has been pushed back to November 2021.
That will be more than two years since the state government announced funding for the study.
The successful tenderer will be announced in the coming weeks, the spokesperson said.
Beuucratic buldust .Inaction at all levels get off your comfortable seats go to the beach and see what your inaction has caused.Do something. Also complete the path to the surf club and beyond before it causes a fatality your inaction will be responsible for .this is 5 years now ACT
“…more than two years since the state government announced funding for the study.” . . . yet another fine example of bureaucratic inertia at its worst!
And . . . “A spokesperson for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) confirmed this morning that a consultant had been selected to undertake the Inverloch Coastal Hazard assessment..” plus . . . “The successful tenderer will be announced in the coming weeks, the spokesperson said.”.
Why not just tell the reporter who the selected tenderer is? Does it need yet another committee taskforce to design how the announcement will be worded!
