Most of us may never have a need to object to or criticise a council decision, but we need to have the right to do so.

If council has an issue with a particular person and it’s ongoing and deemed to be threatening, as council has mentioned, then that issue needs to be referred to police.

These issues need to be dealt with in accordance with the law and not by council deciding someone has a mental health issue and therefore must be shut down.

Before voting on the unreasonable Customer Conduct Policy, did any councillor ask their ratepayers what they thought of the council’s proposal?

After all, that’s who our councillors have been elected by to represent. Us. The ratepayer.
