Congratulations to the Sentinel-Times staff for their great coverage of sport in South Gippsland.

It is a credit to everyone after the tough times from COVID-19.

Local newspapers play such a big part of connecting local communities together and helping everyone to support their friends and families.
With so many families moving into the area, the local newspaper is a great way to display how vibrant South Gippsland is for families and the best way is through a healthy sports community.

The Leongatha & District Cricket Association (LDCA) is very appreciative of the Sentinel-Times’ coverage of cricket with our efforts to start a vibrant girls’ competition, which is moving forward in leaps and bounds.

Coverage of all games of cricket every week in our juniors and seniors with scores including photos was well received by every club – this helps to promote clubs.

The special features at the start of the season and the grand final coverage was excellent and we appreciate the effort to make these features a success.

The support of the LDCA umpires with umpire appointments and features was of great assistance to the association’s profile.

The committee of management of the LDCA thanks the paper for supporting cricket over the season and looks forward to being a part of the Sentinel-Times’ story in the future.

I would like to thank the Sentinel-Times for the support the paper has given me with articles over many years with juniors, etc., and I look forward to working with the Sentinel-Times staff in the future.

Geoff Wyatt, Korumburra.
