THE West Gippsland Football Netball Competition will resume with round eight this weekend.

It was always the plan to return to the round eight fixture, but all games will be played in regional Victoria due to the government’s restrictions on crowds in greater Melbourne.

Footballers and netballers from Melbourne can travel anywhere to play this weekend but games in Greater Melbourne will have no spectators, whereas regional clubs can host crowds of 1000.

Cora Lynn vs Dalyston has been moved to Dalyston and Nar Nar Goon vs Inverloch-Kongwak will now be played at Inverloch.

Kilcunda Bass will host Koo Wee Rup as previously scheduled, as will Warragul Industrials with Bunyip.

Tooradin Dalmore was originally scheduled to play Garfield but now the Seagulls will head to Phillip Island and Garfield will travel to Korumburra.

Metro clubs were entitled to play at home this weekend but they all made the decision to head regional for the weekend.

Clubs are still waiting to hear more information about the availability of a canteen and what restrictions will be in place in change rooms.

The amended fixture for the remainder of 2021 will also be revealed soon, where its expected all clubs will play each other at least once, and the remaining games will be local derbies or other big money spinners.
