LOCAL junior athletes can resume outdoor sport in full capacity after the state government announced the easing of restrictions in regional Victoria.
Adults in regional Victoria can resume outdoor training from Friday but there will be no games played.
There is no official word from any local sporting bodies about what they plan to do with junior matches this weekend, but it is understood they’re working through the process.
The Southern Gippsland Junior Football League and its clubs will be holding a meeting via Zoom tomorrow night to determine how to move on with the season.
All clubs and leagues with under 18s and under 16s football, along with junior netball, are still waiting to hear back from their respective governing bodies on returning to play.
The Wonthaggi Amateur Basketball Association will have to again postpone the grand finals as the games are played inside a gymnasium.
