AFTER almost two days of no power, Wonthaggi businesses are ready to fire up once again.
It’s been a tough few weeks for business owners but Wonthaggi locals are already showing their support by turning up in huge numbers.
At 4.30am, power came back on in some parts of the town, which allowed businesses like the Hicksborough Store and the Whistle Stop Bakery to reopen.
Both venues were packed to the rafters with locals looking for a warm drink and fresh food.
BP was the only petrol station open in Wonthaggi, which created a bit of chaos on McKenzie Street.
Cars were lining up for nearly 100 metres just to join the queue for fuel.
But it wasn’t just McKenzie Street seeing a bit of traffic, Graham and Murray Streets were also chock-a-block with locals looking to do some shopping.
Some businesses were operating in the dark, but at midday, the power came back on, and business owners flocked back to their shops to get over the latest hurdle the world’s thrown at them.
