THE first community event run by the revitalised Lions Club of Korumburra was a great success!

“We had a beautiful day for our winter barbeque and food drive outside Michael’s IGA on June 24,” the club reported.

“Through the generosity of many people, two large shopping trolleys were filled with food. Jenni Keerie at Milpara Community House was thrilled to receive 18 shopping bags of non-perishables for the Food Bank.

“It was wonderful to speak to so many locals as they enjoyed our egg and bacon rolls and sausages.

“The next project under consideration is a possible involvement in the South Gippsland Schools Music Program.

Supporting students to enable them to learn to play musical instruments, may be another important contribution the Lions Club of Korumburra can make. “

The club is also looking at the need for help with tidying up and regenerating the Korumburra Botanic Park.
