FOLLOWING on from the success of the Tech Startup Skills program, Startup Gippsland is announcing the launch of a brand-new program, to be delivered later in the year.
The Scale Up Accelerator will support 15 entrepreneurs through the more advanced stages of scaling their businesses into national and global markets.
The Scale Up Accelerator program combines intensive two-day sessions with mentorship from leading Gippsland professionals to help its participants propel their business into their next phase of business growth. This will be the first program of its kind to be delivered solely for Gippsland entrepreneurs, and Startup Gippsland is the driving force behind it.
Having already supported more than 150 local startups over the past three years, the team at Startup Gippsland is excited to have a program targeted specifically for founders at a more advanced level in their business.
“Startup Gippsland is thrilled to be offering this accelerator program that will bring highly motivated entrepreneurs together with an astonishing calibre of industry experts,” Stephen Angus, Startup Gippsland program director, said.
While the Scale Up Accelerator program is run by locals, for locals, Startup Gippsland has collaborated with a team of expert industry and scale up experts, such as angel investors and export specialists, to ensure all participants have access to the resources and information they need to support their business needs.
Spanning over three months, the program participants will learn about working in a global market, growth strategies, strategic finance, accessing funding, distribution, marketing, and other important elements of scaling, to help them enter new markets and take their businesses to the next level.
“Programs like the Scale Up Accelerator, which focus on the development of entrepreneurs, are what can truly change Gippsland’s region. This program can ensure our six local governments are right at the forefront of the inspirational change that develops our growing ecosystem in ways others will wish they had thought of,” Cr Sharon Gibson, Latrobe City Council Mayor, said.
The Scale Up Accelerator program is open to founders in Gippsland who have an established business and are generating revenue. While the businesses aren’t required to be mature in age, founders do need to be working on the business in a full-time (or close to full-time) capacity to be eligible to apply.
Startup Gippsland is a project by the Bass Coast Shire, Baw Baw Shire, East Gippsland Shire, Latrobe City, South Gippsland Shire and Wellington Shire Councils, co-funded by LaunchVic, and delivered by GippsTech.
Applications for the program close on July 30. Visit startupgippsland.com.au to learn more.
