PERHAPS it was the cold weather, but toasters were a popular fix at the Fixit Café in Wonthaggi last month.

A steady stream of electrical goods kept Glenn Satur busy while the Men’s Shed team worked on novelty lights and a musical box.

This month, Graeme from Bena will be on hand to check out clocks. However, these need to be registered with Wonthaggi Neighbourhood Centre at Mitchell House before the day of repair, which is Sunday, July 18.

A time will be allocated but as repairs vary, there is the opportunity to test the new coffee machine and catch up with friends – it is no doubt a very welcoming environment.

Repairs are done on a voluntary basis but donations are much appreciated.

If you can carry it, you can bring it for mending or referral.

Now for the exciting news. The next Fixit Café is on Sunday, July 21, between 11am and 1pm at theHarvest

Centre/Wonthaggi Men’s Shed, behind Mitchell House (enter from the Goods Shed car park, via the Big W car park).

Feel free to ring 5672 3731 if you have a skill to offer or to register your repair.
