THE vendors at an unreserved clearing sale in Mardan last Friday, August 21, just managed to beat Saturday’s snap lockdown in regional areas to have a highly successful clearance conducted by the team at Alex Scott in Leongatha.

There were 200 registered buyers, according to auctioneer Dane Perczyk, and spirited bidding for all lots.

“Rain had been predicted but it held off nicely all day and the support we received was excellent,” said Andrew Newton of Alex Scott.

One of the vendors, Lucas Licciardello, was pleased with an almost complete clearance of lots, with one notable exception.

“We had some chooks we wanted to put up for sale as well, but in the commotion they got away and were last seen heading out into the paddocks,” said Lucas.

“If anyone in Mardan finds them, they’re welcome to them.

Farm machinery included Kioti Mechron 2200 diesel tractor, Suzuki King quad 500 4WD motorbike, Amazone twin spinner fertilizer spreader, Hustler bale feeder (rounds or big squares), Sicma 2m rotary hoe, Hydraulic hay grab, smudger, boom sprayers and a 4-wheel motorbike calf trailer.

There was a big offering of sundries and some outside vendors.

The property has been sold.
