WORK is progressing on Newhaven College’s new performing arts wing.

After breaking ground in November last year, the TS Constructions project looks set to be finished by the end of the year.

The roof has just been put on and the internals are starting to come together.

A round window has recently been installed, in memory of the principal’s round window at the old Boys Home Road campus.

Newhaven College business manager Stuart Robinson said everyone at the school was looking forward to seeing the space open.

“The staff and the students are really happy that it’s all going ahead and that they’ll be in the building soon,” Stuart said.

“And once the performing arts staff relocate in there, it’ll open up some new spaces in other areas of the school so it’s a win-win for everyone.”

Stuart said the school will likely plan a grand opening of the state-of-the-art building for early March.
