TRARALGON outbreak update by the Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) on Tuesday, August 31, 2021

Approximately 613 COVID-19 tests were conducted at pop up testing sites in Traralgon yesterday; 315 at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium and 298 at the Traralgon Recreation Reserve.

In today’s COVID-update, no new cases were notified at Traralgon.

In total, more than 1000 tests have been conducted in Traralgon since Sunday.

These pop-up testing sites will be operating again today and tomorrow Wednesday, September 1:

* Traralgon Recreation Reserve – drive-through 9.30am – 5pm

To access this drive-through clinic, please follow traffic management signage and enter from Howitt Street (via Liddiard Road) turning left into the back entrance of the Recreation Reserve.

* Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium – drive-through 9.30am – 5pm

To access this drive-through clinic, please follow traffic management signage and enter from Kosciusko Street turning into Catterick Crescent following the crescent around to the carpark entrance.

Please refrain from blocking local residents’ driveways. Traffic Management will be in place to assist the flow of traffic to ensure residents in these areas are able to readily access entrance and egress from their properties. We ask that those attending these sites follow the directional traffic signage.

As experienced yesterday, please be advised that large numbers are expected at both testing sites today. We ask the community to be patient and prepared to wait by bringing along refreshments, and to follow the direction of staff at these testing sites.

You can also book a COVID test at any one of the Gippsland Respiratory Clinics. The Latrobe Valley Respiratory Clinic in Morwell has extended its capacity to five testing rooms.

There are no new exposure sites and all tests have returned a negative result to date.
