THE Leongatha and District Cricket Association held another meeting last week, where they proposed a season start date of November 6.

The season was originally due to start on October 9, but with the ongoing restrictions, an official return may still be a while away.

Also, the league may have to wait until Melburnians are available to play, especially with the inclusion of Nyora into the league who has a large contingent of players which reside in Melbourne.

But ultimately the league will only start when Cricket Victoria allows them to.

Cricket Victoria is in constant discussions with the state government about what a return may look like, and it’s clear the vaccination rate will likely impact the start of the season.

Also at the meeting, the league said they would be moving the league presentation night to the Poowong Football Club rooms.

The move will be the first of a new rotating system the league has implemented for presentation night.
