TAFE Gippsland student Jake Seuren, who manages a leased farm at Lang Lang, is being celebrated for taking out the People’s Choice Award in the Trainee of the Year category at the 2021 Victorian Training Awards.

The young agriculture student polled the most votes from the public voting process – an indication of the popularity and the respect Jake has across the Gippsland community and among his TAFE Gippsland colleagues and staff.

The 67th Victorian Training Awards, recognising the state’s best apprentices, students, teachers, trainers and employers, were announced during a livestream event on Saturday, October 16, with all finalists appearing via online links.

Nominated by Louise Underhill in the Agricultural Sciences Department, Jake was one of three finalists in the Trainee of the Year award category and was pipped for the honour by a nursing trainee from Federation University in Ballarat.

TAFE Gippsland congratulated Jake for winning the 2021 People Choice Award and extended a big thank-you to everyone at TAFE Gippsland and throughout the Gippsland community for nominating him.
