AFTER seasons cancelled and children limited with their physical activity, the Leongatha Little Athletics track was bursting at the seams on Saturday morning with athletes ready to meet new friends and learn new skills.

The on-trackers introductory program welcomed a new group of energetic and enthusiastic children ready to begin the season.

The 2021-2022 season will run a little different going forward with an enhancement of parent involvement. All parents can now collect a lanyard at the COVID check-in tent and competitions will begin once enough assistants are in the arena.

President Ben Cruickshank saw the increase in parental assistance on Saturday, taking the busy workload off the event officials. Duties can be reserved via the online roster on a week-by-week basis.

With juniors learning the ropes and excitement at an all-time high after restrictions, the atmosphere at the track was incredible.

Jordyn Browne and Aysha Best of the under 9 girls were introduced to new member Ella Anastasi and welcomed her to the group, as she learnt her way around the arena.
