Robert Hayward’s letter last week is commendable for encouraging locals to use the current bus service.
However, there is one point that should be clarified.
Those of us who actually use the service know that the prices are cheaper than what he believes them to be.
For example, a return concession trip that allows about 1.5 hours in Wonthaggi currently costs $1.20. Time to do the shopping, and with the money saved, enjoy a cafe treat or save more by reading the daily paper at the library.
A day return or non-concession return trip costs $2.40 and only a non-concession day return trip costs over $4, at $4.80.
